Mental Health Information Network (BU Medical Library & Mass Dept of Mental Health)

This site provides "a comprehensive access point for quality-filtered information and links, as well as content information and materials provided by DMH and other mental health information providers. The site will serve as a mental health information resource for consumers and staff in the Metro Boston area, as well as regionally, and nationally." Topics include substance abuse, suicide prevention, disorders and diseases, and much more.

This government site contains public information, news & events, research activities, and grants & contracts. Some publications can be requested for free through a fax machine or computer with fax capabilities. Be careful to print PDF files using the Adobe print command--not the browser print button.

Social Psychology Network

Of particular interest here are the links to social psychology topics such as: prejudice, discrimination, and diversity; the psychology of gender; social influence; interpersonal relations; and violence, conflict resolution, and peace.

Here find "original information generated by respected researchers and practitioners in various fields of psychology" as well as a "hierarchical database of links to websites providing information about scientific psychology." The search engines are best used with simple terms. Results will be "off the Web" but are carefully selected for addition to the site.

"Classics in the History of Psychology is an effort to make the full texts of a large number of historically significant public domain documents from the scholarly literature of psychology and allied disciplines available on the World Wide Web. This is a peer reviewed, electronic journal covering all aspects of social psychology. Articles cover topics such as gender issues, efficacy of reinforcement Schedules, self awareness, etc. The only drawback here is the lack of a search engine. You must browse through titles for information.
