Access to Westfield State College Library’s Databases
The following information is intended as a brief guide to assist you
in accessing our databases. Please read the information before your
first use. Logon

Requirements: You need the following:
1. You are a registered Student, or a member of the Faculty or Staff
at Westfield State College.
2. You have Internet access using at least Netscape 4.0 or Internet
Explorer 5.0 as a browser.
If not, you may download a later version of Netscape
at http://wp.netscape.com/download/archive.html
3. Your browser must be set to accept cookies. See Below for directions
for setting browsers to accept cookies.
Setting Your Browser to Accept Cookies

Netscape 4.0 & up

Open the Edit Menu

Select Preferences
-
Click on Advanced (the word)

Click the radio button next to Accept all cookies

Click OK

Open the Tools Menu

Select Internet Options

Click Security
-
Click on Custom Levels

Set both settings to enable cookies

Accessing the Databases:
-
Open your browser and go to the URL: http://208.34.222.228/bin/rdas.dll
This URL does not go through the college’s network.

Enter the logon information as requested on the screen:
-
Use only numbers for your Login ID
-
Use only lower case when entering your last name, (omit all hyphens and
apostrophes from your last name), then press submit.

If the logon is successful, you will be sent to list of databases titled
– Remote Access to Ely Library Electronic Databases. Click on
the Database Title that you want to search. Note that you must use
this list to access databases from off-campus.

Please remember to logoff the database when you are finished.
Databases Available:
You can determine which databases are available by going to the URL
shown below. You will not be able to access databases from this page until
you have logged on successfully.
