Borrowing via the Massachusetts Virtual Catalog (VC)

Welcome to Westfield State College Library's portal to the Massachusetts Virtual Catalog (VC). All WSC students, faculty, and staff can access the Virtual Catalog and request interlibrary loans directly from any of the 370+ libraries that comprise its membership (45 Academic Libraries, 307 Public Libraries, and 26 Special and School Libraries). Total Holdings of these libraries exceed 38.6 million volumes.

Full Searching and Requesting: You will be prompted to enter your patron ID.
For Students: input your 9-digit alphanumeric College-Wide ID (CWID) number, e.g. A12345678.
For Faculty & Staff: input your WSC email user name. In most cases that is first initial and last name, e.g. ksmith. Click here to login

Searching only: If you do not know your barcode ID number or College-Wide ID (CWID) number , you can search the virtual catalog by typing 'GUEST'. But you will not be able to place any Interlibrary Loan requests in the Virtual Catalog.   Click here to login as GUEST.
 
Massachusetts Virtual Catalog Functions: 

Current WSC students, faculty and staff are able to:

  • Simultaneously search the online catalogs of more than 370 participating libraries. 
  • Request items online that are currently unavailable at the Westfield State College Library. 
  • Receive email confirmations and notices of arrival.
  • Pick up and return the borrowed materials at the Westfield State College Library Circulation Desk. 
  • Please Note: You will not be able to logon for Full Searching & Requesting if you have overdue items or outstanding fines. 
  • If you have trouble logging in, please check your library account.
