WHO MAY BORROW MATERIALS: Current Westfield State College students with a valid ID may borrow materials.
WHAT MAY BE BORROWED: Items from the Circulating Collection. All students are required to use their ID cards to check out Library materials. See also "Cooperating Libraries of Greater Springfield (CLGS)" below and the CLGS Loan Policy.
LOAN PERIOD: Books and certain other non-print materials may
be borrowed for four weeks.
Videos and compact discs may be borrowed for two weeks.
You may renew each item once. Renewals may be requested by telephone
at 413-572-5231.
HOLDS: Students may request a hold placed on any materials which are checked out. The Library will notify the patron by telephone or email when the materials become available.
WHAT MAY NOT BE BORROWED FROM THE LIBRARY: Periodicals, Reference materials, and items on Reserve may be used in the Library only. Only one Reserve item at a time may be checked out for in-library use.
INTERLIBRARY LOANS: Interlibrary loan materials borrowed from other libraries are due on the indicated date.
RECALL OF MATERIALS: All borrowed materials are subject to immediate recall. If an item you have borrowed is recalled, you are responsible for bringing it back to the Library immediately.
OVERDUE AND LOST MATERIALS: Lost materials will be billed at
replacement cost plus a $25.00 processing fee. Fines for overdue materials
are $.25 per day per item up to a $10.00 maximum per item. Any item more
than 60 days overdue will be considered lost. Additional materials may
not be borrowed until outstanding fines and lost materials fees have been
paid.
COOPERATING LIBRARIES OF GREATER SPRINGFIELD (CLGS)
You may borrow materials from the libraries of the following institutions. See CLGS Loan Policy.
WHO MAY BORROW MATERIALS: Current Westfield State College Faculty
and Staff with a valid College ID.
Borrowing privileges are not transferable to family members.
WHAT MAY BE BORROWED: Book, audiovisual and other materials from the Circulating Collection may be borrowed.
LOAN PERIOD: Books and certain other nonprint materials may be
borrowed until the end of the semester in which they are borrowed. Materials
borrowed during the summer may be borrowed until the end of the last summer
session.
Videos and compact discs may be borrowed for two weeks.

Arrangements to borrow Periodicals for short loans may be made at the
circulation desk. Reference Materials may be used only in the Library.
Reserve Materials circulate only in the Library.
ID CARDS: Faculty and Staff are required to use their College ID card to borrow Library materials.
