Nanduti: Early Foreign Language Learning, Grades K-8

Nanduti is a foreign language initiative produced by the Northeast and Islands Regional Educational Laboratories at Brown University for parents, teachers, and administrators. Nanduti provides information on early-start/long-sequence foreign language programs. Its focus is on practical, "implementable" materials, resources and techniques for grades K-8.

The Online English Grammar

Valuable resource for students and teachers of English as a Foreign Language. Besides grammar assistance, the site contains a bulletin board chat system, "English Grammar Clinic," that allows users to post or reply to questions about grammer or usage.  Also includes a sound file to aid users in pronouncing the English alphabet and "English Language Practice Pages" that enable students to complete exercises and take sample proficiency tests.

Foreign Language Test Database

A searchable database of secondary and college level tests in languages other than English. The database currently identifies more than 140 tests in 63 languages. The database is maintained by the National Capital Language Resource Center, a joint project of Georgetown University, The George Washington University, and the Center for Applied Linguistics.

The Rosetta Project

Appropriate if you're researching an obscure, lesser-known language. Archiving language samples for preservation, in hopes of eventually preserving as many languages as possible (around 7000). Electronic Text Collections in Western European Literature

Complete French texts (no English translation) of a number of French literary masterpieces, arranged by literary period.  Includes authors such as Rousseau, Baudelaire, Sand, Stendhal, and Zola. Once completed the site is expected to be one of the largest electronic sources for French literature in the world.  Created by France's Bibliotheque Nationale.

The Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz Project

Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz was a seventeenth century Mexican poet, writer and nun who became famous for promoting the intellectual abilities of women in an extremely patriarchal society.  Includes bibliography and searchable online catalog of her works, bibliography of criticism, and list of Sor Juana scholars.
