MEDLINE - (Ebsco version) National Library of Medicine   1966-  Updated Monthly
Provides authoritative medical information on medicine, nursing, dentistry, veterinary medicine, the health care system, pre-clinical sciences, and much more. Created by the National Library of Medicine, MEDLINE allows users to search abstracts from over 4,000 current biomedical journals and to link to full text for articles contained within the Biomedical Reference Collection: Basic database.  It includes the entire MEDLINE collection and uses MeSH (Medical Subject Headings) indexing with tree numbers, tree hierarchy and explosion capabilities to search abstracts from current biomedical journals, citations from Index Medicus, the International Nursing Index, and the Index to Dental Literature. This database is updated monthly on EBSCOhost. WWW Search Guide

PubMed - U. S. National Library of Medicine           1966 -       Updated Monthly.
Covers all areas of medicine, including clinical medicine, experimental medicine, dentistry, nursing, health services administration, nutrition, and much more. BasicBIOSIS (formerly BIOSIS/FS) - BIOSIS      Current Three Years.    Updated  Weekly.
A subset by journal title and year, of BIOSIS Previews, designed specifically for undergraduate students taking introductory biology courses. A four-year rolling file, the database provides information on recent developments in virtually every life science discipline.  Now includes an expanded journal list covering approximately 375 basic life science journals found in college and university libraries, and new indexing information that facilitates searching  and accurate record retrieval.  FirstSearch / Search Guide

A multi-source database for health and wellness research. HighWire Press currently provides more than 1.8 million free full-text articles from the Web versions of 311 important journals in biomedicine and other science disciplines.  You can search all of the journals simultaneously and get result lists that include for-fee articles, or you can search the free journals independently.

ScienceResearch.com -   Deep Web Technologies, LLC            Current File   Updated Monthly
ScienceResearch.com is a free, publicly available Internet web portal that searches thousands of high-quality journals and databases and ranks results by relevance on a single results page. Some full text is available but most citations include only a brief abstract. Subject areas covered include Astronomy, Biology ? Nature, Chemistry, Computers ? Technology, Earth ? Environmental Sciences, Engineering, General Science,  Health ? Medicine,  Materials Science,  Mathematics,  Physics, and Social Sciences.

PsycINFO  (Ebsco)  - American Psychological Association             1806-            Updated Monthly
Coverage has been expanded back to 1806. PsycINFO provide abstracts from dissertations, books, book chapters, technical reports, and approximately 2,000 journals on psychology published in 50 countries. Chapter and book coverage includes worldwide English-language material published from 1987 to the present; however, there is a substantial number of records covering books published earlier. WWW

AIDS Clinical Trials Information Service - ACTIS          Current     Updated Monthly
A central resource for current information on federally and privately funded clinical trials for AIDS patients and others
 infected with the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). AIDS clinical trials evaluate experimental drugs and other therapies for adults and children at all stages of HIV infection -- from patients who are HIV positive with no symptoms to those with various symptoms of AIDS.  Replaces AIDSDRUGS database formerly administered by the National Institute of Medicine.

Alcohol Studies Database - Rutgers University Center of Alcohol Studies     1987-
Searchable database containing bibliographic citations only for over 60,000 documents indexed by the Rutgers University Center of Alcohol Studies since 1987. The primary focus  is on research and professional materials dealing with beverage alcohol, its use and related consequences. In addition to the research and professional material, the database also includes a small collection of educational and prevention materials, including audiovisuals, suitable for students and educators K-12, parents, community workers, and the general public. ChemID® (CHEMical IDentification) - U.S. National Library of Medicine   Updated Quarterly
CHEMID is a chemical dictionary file for over 344,000 compounds of biomedical and regulatory interest. Records include CAS Registry Numbers and other identifying numbers, molecular formulae, generic names, trivial names, other synonyms, MeSH headings, and file locators which lead users to other NLM files. In addition, SUPERLIST provides names and other data used to describe chemicals on over 30 key federal and state regulatory lists. WWW.

The Alcohol and Alcohol  Problems Science Database, commonly referred to as ETOH, is the most comprehensive online resource covering all aspects of alcohol abuse and alcoholism. Produced by the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA), ETOH contains over 100,000 records including abstracts and bibliographic references to journal articles, books, dissertation abstracts, conference papers and proceedings, reports and studies, and chapters in edited works. Provides project records for research in progress funded by federal and private grants and contracts. International Bibliographic Information on Dietary Supplements (IBIDS) - National Institutes of Health  1986-  Updated Quarterly
IBIDS contains citations published in international scientific journals on the topic of dietary supplements from1986 to the present. The IBIDS database is a cooperative project of the National Institutes of Health and the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Citations have been selected from multiple databases to ensure that the database is comprehensive and internationally representative. Citations in foreign languages are included only if the abstract is in English. WWW

OLDMEDLINE – U.S. National Institute of Medicine         1964-1965         Closed File
Contains citations published in the 1964 and 1965 Cumulated Index Medicus and covers the fields of medicine, preclinical sciences, and allied health sciences. Subject searching of this file is available through key words (the original Medical Subject Headings, MeSH, assigned back in 1964-65) and text phrases. Unlike MEDLINE, this file contains no abstracts nor MeSH heading (MH) field data from NLM's current controlled vocabulary.  WWW.  Search Guide

Provides desktop access to more than 6,000 full text periodical titles including 121 wire services; full indexing of The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, The Los Angeles Times, and The Christian Science Monitor newspapers; and a total of more than 10,000 periodical titles with 25 years of backfile coverage from 1980 to present.  The database uses the same search engine as our other InfoTrac databases.  Content includes more than 508 million records from  periodical and news content and indexing from a variety of mainstream and specialized sources including refereed academic journals.
